Why we use VS Code?

VS Code is a compiler which is used to perform a program in any language i.e. C, C++, Java, Python, etc. VS Code facilitates writing a program when we install the extension which helps us to correct or suggest writing a program. 

Steps to download VS Code:

• Open any search engine like google, bing, etc.

• Search VS Code
• Then we will click on the link or you can click here to reach on the Visual Studio website.

• This provides the option for Windows, Linux, macOS. You can download based on the application you are using.

• After you download, install it.

Method for using C in the Visual Studio code.

To use C in VS Code, we need to download gcc from the VS Code website.

Step to download gcc are as follows:

• Once we have clicked Download VS Code, we will go to the next page.
• There we will see a sidebar in which there were many options.
• We will click on C++.

• On clicking C++, there will open many options.
• Next, we'll select gcc for Windows or any of the application you use.
• On the third point of prerequisites, there will be a link Mingw-w64 or you can directly click here

• After the download of gcc, then install it.

Now we have to Copy the location of gcc and put this in Environmental variable.

 To do this step we have to follow the following steps:

• After installation of gcc, we will go to This pc on desktop.

• go to drive c, then go to program file(x86)
• Then click on mingw-w64, then click on i686-8.1.0-posix-dwarf-rt_v6-rev0
• Then click on mingw32, then click on bin

• Now copy the path as it appears in the picture above.
• Now right-click on This pc, and then select Advanced system settings.

• Then click on Environmental variables.

• Then select path and Click on Edit.

• Then Click on New, and paste the path location which we copied earlier.

It is the whole process to install VS Code and run the C program in it.

Now we can open VS code and write a program and can execute the program.
