Essay on Life fritters away when distractions become your lifestyle
Technology has become a part of our lives. We are constantly using it and we don’t even know how
much time we spend on it. It seems as if everybody has become so much busy with social
networking sites that they don’t have time to even talk with their loved ones. I saw an old man
sharing a picture with his grandson on Facebook and another young man was busy using Instagram
to compare himself with an actor on television. What are we actually doing? Sharing our precious
moments with strangers on the internet? Spending hours liking and commenting on the pictures of
friends we hardly talk to in reality? Waiting for that perfect selfie before posting a picture online? Is
this what we call living a good life? I don’t think so.
The greatest danger of technology, in my opinion, is its ability to distract us from life
We spend too
much time on social media and sharing our moments with strangers on the internet. We waste our
time waiting for that perfect selfie that we're going to post later (not looking at me). The list goes on
and on.
But there are better ways you can use technology as an instrument of connection in your life—and
they don't involve getting sucked into a vortex of likes and comments like some sort of social media
addict.
I have been witnessing people getting distracted from their actual and beautiful life by taking
interest in other’s lives on social media
Social media is a distraction, but it’s not just that. It has
become a way of life for many people who spend most of their time looking at others’ photos or
watching videos on YouTube instead of doing something useful with their own time and energy.
Social media is not real life; it's just a platform where people can share their thoughts with each
other or post pictures of the things they like to wear or eat! You may think that you are living your
own personal brand with all these pictures which represent who we are as individuals but actually, no
one cares about these things except yourself because there's nothing special about them except how
much effort went into making them look pretty so everyone will want one too without realizing that
maybe someone else could make something better than what they did before if given enough
resources (money).
There is a lot one can do and learn if he/she doesn't spend all the time on the social media platform
You can spend your time doing anything. If you don’t spend all the time on social media platforms,
there is a lot one can do and learn if he/she doesn’t spend all the time on social media platforms.
- Spend time with family members
- Spend time with friends
- Learn new things
- Do sports (like playing football or basketball)
Social media has become the most important part of the daily routine of human beings
We spend a
lot of time on social media, sharing our lives with strangers and comparing ourselves with others.
People want to be popular on Facebook or Instagram so that they can get good reviews from their
friends. Some even pay for it by putting up fake profiles just to get likes and comments from other
users!
Social media has made us lazy in many ways. we no longer need to go out shopping or eat out at
restaurants because all we need is right here in front of us at home (or anywhere else). We can find
everything that we need via search engines like Google Maps or Yelp! If there's anything wrong with
this situation then why would anyone want anything else?
It seems as if everybody has become so much busy with social networking sites that they don’t have
time to even talk with their loved ones
We are spending more time on social media than we are
taking care of our health, doing our work and talking with our family members.
We all know how bad it can be when we spend too much time on Facebook or other social media
sites and forget about what is happening in the real world. We also know how addictive these sites can
be; people crave more likes and followers so they will spend hours scrolling through their feeds
looking for something new, interesting or entertaining to read about every day.
I saw an old man sharing a picture with his grandson on Facebook and another young man was busy
using Instagram to compare himself with an actor on television
I wondered if they knew how much
time they were wasting by looking at their phones? In my opinion, it is not because of distraction but
because of laziness and lack of ambition in life.
There are many ways to spend less time without any loss in quality or performance:
- Don't check your phone before going to bed at night. Instead, read a book or look out the
window while listening to music (you'll feel better).
- Turn off notifications on social media apps so you don’t miss anything important when you have
free time during the day (this applies especially when there is no wifi available)
Is this what we call living a good life? I don't think so
So, what is a good life for you? Is it the one where you are happy with your life? Or does it mean that
you need to be able to spend all of your time on social media platforms, watching movies and
playing games in order to feel satisfied with yourself? If we want to live a good life, then we should
not spend all our time in front of a computer screen. Instead of doing these things, we should spend
some time with our family and friends or read a book.
If there is something that can distract us from our lives, then this something will take over our minds
and heart so much that even though they seem like distractions at first glance but later on when
everything gets back into place again they become just another part of who we used to be before
technology came along!
Technology has become a part of our lives

Conclusion
I believe that the biggest challenge of our generation is to live a good life without letting technology
become our lifestyle
